A Rinzai Zen temple standing along Kasuga-dori Avenue, a short walk from Hongo-sanchome Station. It is the family temple of Kasuga no Tsubone, wet nurse to the third Tokugawa shogun Iemitsu, and her grave remains within the precincts. Although it sits in a corner of Hongo lined with universities and shops, the noise of the street fades away the moment you pass through the gate. A fine spot to drop by when your legs are tired and catch your breath in the quiet grounds.
