A temple standing at the foot of the Otokozaka slope below Yushima Tenmangu Shrine, affectionately known as "Yushima Shoten." It was founded in 1694 (Genroku 7), splitting off from the betto temple that oversaw Yushima Tenjin, and has enshrined Daisho Kangiten ever since. In the grounds remains the "Yanagi no I" (Willow Well), said to be one of Edo's famous waters. Before climbing the slope up to the Tenjin shrine, take a moment to catch your breath here first.
