このスポットについて
A small hall in the grounds of Sensoji Temple, just before Hozomon Gate. It enshrines Kume no Heinai, a samurai of the early Edo period, who is said to have repented his sins and practiced zazen, and to have wished that after his death people would tread upon his statue. This "treading" (fumitsuke) later came to be linked with fumizuke, the delivering of letters, and today people come to press their hands together and pray for good matches in love. Pause here partway along the temple approach.
