A Tendai Buddhist temple situated partway down Gyōninzaka slope from Meguro Station. The grounds are lined with a group of stone Buddhas known as the 'Gohyaku Rakan' (Five Hundred Arhats), and the temple is historically noted as the origin point of the Great Gyōninzaka Fire of 1772 (Meiwa 9). Pause on the steep slope to spend a quiet moment face-to-face with the many stone figures.
