A ward-run park opened in 2004 on the former site of the Shoda Residence, the family home of Empress Emerita Michiko. It lies in a quiet residential area in the Gotanda / Higashi-Gotanda district and is planted with flowers and grasses connected with the Empress. The garden is small in scale, but you can stroll it quietly while enjoying the blooms of each season.
