このスポットについて
Just steps from Shirokanedai Station, this annex of the National Museum of Nature and Science spreads out a forest you would never expect in central Tokyo. Its woodland was preserved through changes of ownership — a powerful clan's residence in medieval times, a lower residence of the Takamatsu domain in the Edo period, a gunpowder magazine in the Meiji era, and later the Shirokane Imperial Estate — and it is designated a National Natural Monument and Historic Site. You can walk slowly along the garden paths through woods and wetlands that still recall the old Musashino landscape.
