A river about 8 km long that flows from Setagaya City through Meguro City and Shinagawa City before emptying into Tokyo Bay. Near Nakameguro Station a promenade runs along the water, and in spring some 800 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees bloom in profusion from both banks, leaning out over the surface of the river. Outside the cherry blossom season, cafés and shops are dotted along the riverside, making this an area to enjoy a stroll through all four seasons.
