Craftsmen handmake about 400 picks a day from kuromoji (Japanese spicebush), a wood prized for its strong fragrance and springiness. The signature Kamizumi toothpicks are ¥1,320 for 20, and the paulownia-wood toothpick cases can be personalized with a name.
