A Soto Zen temple located along the Sun Road shopping street at the north exit of Kichijoji Station, and one of the "Shikenji," Kichijoji's four temples. It has a history of having relocated from Kanda after the Great Fire of Meireki. Its main gate stands right beside the bustling shopping street, naturally catching the eye of passersby during a stroll through town.
