Opened in 1995, this is Japan's largest public museum of contemporary art. Located a walk from Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station in the direction of Kiba Park, it houses a collection of over approximately 5,800 works. The airy building itself, designed by architect Takahiko Yanagisawa, is well worth seeing, and a visit with ample time to take in both the permanent collection and special exhibitions is highly recommended.
